Ducati 848 / 1098 / 1198 Under Bodywork Frame Slider Base Kit w/ Slider Pucks - NO CUT

The frame slider kit for the 848/1098 spent a lot of time in R&D. The narrow engine makes for a somewhat long slider needed to reach the bodywork. We were concerned that a standard slider would have a tendendcy to bend and/or break - causing damage to the frame and engine.

With this in mind, we made a support bracket that clamps securely to the frame to reinforce the slider. Again we had a test rider try them out (with a crash while racing) and they held up perfectly, helping to protect the tank and water pump. These are a little more expensive than our standard sliders, but well worth the investment when it comes to protecting your Italian beauty.

This is a special set that sits behind the bodywork - offering valuable protection for the water pump & other vulnerable pieces, but which does not require cutting the bodywork. This kit utilizes our 50-1399 shorty pucks for replacement pucks.

NOTES: This kit requires the elimination and/or removal of the exhaust flapper valve motor. We confirmed with Ducati NA that this is just a low rpm noise reduction device. On our bike (which just has slipons) we trimmed off the small drain plug on the bottom of the piece and zip tied the valve motor to the frame about 1/4" above the original mount. All full exhaust systems we are aware of eliminate this device completely anyway, so if you have a full system none of this will apply to you.

Woodcraft frame sliders stand out in a market crowded with look-alike options. Our patent pending design features a slider puck that can be replaced with one bolt. What makes the Woodcraft design unique is the perpendicular attachment bolt for the puck. Because we do not have to hollow out the center of the puck, we can leave the sliding surface of the puck solid. This provides 48% more plastic to slide on, dramatically improving puck life. The side mount also eliminates the hassle of trying to dig out a puck replacement bolt through a distorted hole.

For racing, this model uses a special universal shorty slider pucks (included) that give the perfect amount of puck protruding from the fairing.

These sliders require cutting the bodywork on the right side. Making solid sliders with no offsets is absolutely the best way to protect your bike in a crash - giving the slider maximum strength to resist bending and breaking. Offset sliders can break and sometimes do more damage than they prevent (like breaking frames). We will only sell what we race with ourselves and believe these to be the best frame sliders available for this bike.
